What is the role of medical technology in clinical laboratory?

The terms are essentially interchangeable. The Clinical Laboratory IS Medical Technology, and vice-versa. They used to just call them "Lab Techs," but like all fields, the techs discovered they could sound more knowledgeable (and therefore deserving of higher pay) by referring to themselves as Medical Technologists. It's the same job, just a different name.
