What kind of clarinet should I get?

Hi, I'm getting a new clarinet, but I am somewhat middle class/ poor. We can't really afford any 5000 clarinet. I'm going into high school. I play 1st clarinet parts, and I was second chair clarinet. (In otherwords I am a somewhat high rank.) I'm pretty good, not conceited or anything though. I currently have a plastic yamaha, and it's a piece of crap, because I was irresponsible when I first got it, but I want a new one. Which brand and model would be best for an intermediate? I like wood ones too. Thanks (:
